The mat starts out waaaayyy too sticky and it will eat your paper or the backing on your vinyl. Not the classic silhouette mat like what comes with the machine. When the cutting mat is new however it can be too sticky for certain material such as paper and paper backed materials such as adhesive vinyl. Knowing how to clean and resticking your cutting mats can save you money and it can also be fun.

Before the first cut on a new mat de sticky it by patting it with a clean t. This is frustrating but you will learn to keep several mats on hand at different levels of stickiness for different things.
